About Inshorts
Inshorts is an app that summarizes news articles in 60 words and covers a wide-range of topics, including tech and business. Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was started by the IIT Delhi Droputs. There are three founders of inshorts –
- Azhar Iqubal
- Anunay Pandey – Anunay Pandey is one of the co-founders of Inshorts. He, along with Azhar Iqubal and Deepit Purkayastha, played a key role in founding the company. Anunay Pandey, like the other co-founders, has been instrumental in shaping Inshorts’ unique approach to news delivery and its mobile app
- Deepit Purkayastha – Deepit Purkayastha is another co-founder of Inshorts. He, along with Azhar Iqubal and Anunay Pandey, established the company with the vision of providing users with succinct and easily consumable news summaries. Deepit Purkayastha has been involved in the development and growth of the Inshorts platform.
According to Azhar, in December 2014, there were just 100,000 users and currently there are nearly 3 million users.

Azhar Iqubal is the Cofounder of Inshorts that has been started as a Facebook Page and now it is a million dollar company.
He initiated his academic voyage with a strong desire to excel in the renowned IIT JEE examination. In 2009, he secured a spot at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), where he pursued a course in computer science engineering. Nevertheless, in 2012, he made a bold and courageous decision to drop his studies at IIT and explore the realm of entrepreneurship.
Idea of Inshorts came to his mind when he saw a gap in the media industry. He noticed that people are not willing to read news articles on daily basis because they are lengthy and boring. To fill this gap, iqubal came up with the idea of bringing news in 60-100 words. He started with a Facebook page where he used to post news in just 4 to 5 lines. People were very interested and in a short span of time his page grabbed thousands of likes and followers, and with growing time, he came up with the idea of launching a new app named Inshorts.
With his fellow dropout mates “Anunay Pandey” and “Deepit Purkayastha”, he launched an app the goal of delivering important news and information in a concise and easy-to-digest format, and slowly it became very popular in the industry. Inshorts has gained popularity for its unique approach to news delivery and its mobile app, which provides users with short, summarized news stories.
